Makina started as an idea; to exist to document things and make them available. Makina believes in a physical thing, a doing thing and broken things; it is forging an archive along the way. Makina is both pro and anti-archive. It publishes what it wants and whenever it can – above all, it is enthusiastic about friendship, accessibility, networks and community. Makina is currently based between London and the South-West; since 2016 it has specialised in affordable artists’ books–exhibitions–sound and print.
